SOUTH SHORE OF THE ST. LAWRENCE

Highway 20, which crosses the province of Québec from west to east through Montréal and Québec City, will take you directly to Bas-Saint-Laurent, one of the regions of Québec maritime.

Route 132 follows the St. Lawrence from the American border to Gaspésie, where it circles the Gaspé Peninsula.

To get to Gaspésie, you can also take highways 2, 8 and 11 in New Brunswick from US Highway 95.

Route 185 takes you directly into Québec maritime (at Dégelis, in Bas-Saint-Laurent) from US Highway 95 via Highway 2 North, in New Brunswick.

NORTH SHORE OF THE ST. LAWRENCE

Highway 40 crosses part of the province of Québec and will take you eastward to Québec City. From there, Route 138 gives you access to Côte-Nord, all the way to Natashquan.

Route 138 is the only highway that crosses Côte-Nord from west to east. In the winter, it is accessible mainly via highways 20 or 40 from Québec City, or via the ferry from Matane (Gaspésie) to Baie-Comeau / Godbout (Côte-Nord).

LINKS BETWEEN THE SHORES

Venture off the beaten path and take the ferry that links Matane (Gaspésie) to Baie-Comeau / Godbout (Côte-Nord). This is a perfect opportunity to discover the completely different scenery from one shore of the St. Lawrence to the other without having to retrace your steps.

In the Québec City region, Hôtel Motel Colibri and Hôtel-Motel Bernières offer a snowmobile transport service between the north and south shores (across the Québec Bridge in a closed trailer).
