CÔTE-NORD

If you open up your snowmobile trail map of the Côte-Nord, you will notice something totally unique in Québec: a single thick line that more or less skirts the river for a distance of 1,765 kilometres (1,097 mi.) running from Tadoussac to Natashquan and then following the Great White Trail all the way to Labrador.
Another fantastic feature of the Côte-Nord is that its trails open onto an uninterrupted succession of fabulous vistas of the Estuary and Gulf of St. Lawrence. You can also cross the legendary rivers over dizzying snowmobile bridges. Here, more than in any other region, snowmobilers can experience the majestic visual impact of the sea-making the Côte-Nord singularly memorable.
Nor is the Côte-Nord as isolated in winter as it may appear. It boasts, in fact, the only ferry in continuous operation between the two shores of the St. Lawrence. The Camille-Marcoux links Baie-Comeau with Matane in the Gaspésie year round. Since the boat can be boarded by snowmobile, traveling snowmobilers from all around can be seen embarking and disembarking it every day.
The most sublime of adventures consists of snaking along the Basse-Côte-Nord where the snowmobile trail is the only route accessible during the cold season. From Natashquan to Vieux-Fort near Blanc-Sablon, you will travel through a succession of Francophone, Anglophone and Native villages, such as Harrington Harbour, whose charm is irresistible and whose environment resembles that of the Great North.
